의정부에 위치한 초등학교로 꽤나 역사를 지나온듯한 외관을 가지고 있다.
한때 인구가 많이 늘어 초등학생을 수용해야 할 시기에 증축에 증축을 거쳐 지금의 모습을 가지게 된 것같다.
초등학교는 거의 그 동네의 정상에 놓여 있었다. 푸르른 뒷산을 배경으로 언덕을 올라 꼭대기에 자리를 잡고 있었다. 여느 초등학교의 배치와 다름없이 운동장을 앞에두고 역기역자로 본관과 서관이 자리잡고 최근에 증축된 판넬마감의 체육관이 건물의 끝자락에 모습을 드러냈다.
다른 초등학교와는 다른 입면의 모습을 가지고 있었다. 원형 장식기둥이 4개층에 걸쳐 마치 열주처럼 본관의 전면을 장식하고 있었고 전면 본관 주출입의 캐노피 또한 웅장하였다. 주요 마감은 벽돌이었으나 외벽을 페인트로 리모델링한 흔적들이 보였다.
규모도 너무 크고 기존 입면의 구성이 평평한 것이 아닌 나오고 들어간 요철들이 많아서 디자인을 어떻게 할 것인가 많은 고민이 되었다. 이전에는 주로 외벽 개선공사는 외단열 마감으로 많이 제안되었으나 화제에 취약한 부분이 있고 시간이 지나면서 오염도 많이 되어 지양하고 있는 추세인것 같다.
외벽자재는 단열재가 같이 있는 단열판넬로 그 마감이 금속시트, 화강석, 점토타일의 3종류 이다. 열관류율에 맞추다 보니 중부1지역이어서 마감의 두께가 두꺼워 외벽에서 벽두께가 많이 두꺼워 지는 것이 좀 걱정거리다.
이 프로젝트는 내진보강공사, 창호교체공사와 더불어 같이 진행될 예정이다.

The elementary school lay almost at the top of the neighborhood. Climbing up the hill against the background of the green mountain behind, I was seated at the top. As with the layout of any other elementary school, the main building and the west building are located in front of the playground, and a gymnasium with a recently expanded panel finish is revealed at the end of the building.
It had a different elevation from other elementary schools. Circular decorative pillars decorated the front of the main building like a colonnade across four floors, and the canopy over the main entrance to the main building was also magnificent. The main finish was brick, but there were traces of remodeling the exterior wall with paint.
The scale is too large, and the composition of the existing elevation is not flat, but there are many protruding and indented bumps, so I was worried about how to design it. In the past, the exterior wall improvement work was mostly proposed as an exterior insulation finish, but it seems to be a trend that is being avoided due to the vulnerable part of the topic and a lot of contamination over time.
Exterior wall materials are insulation panels with insulation materials, and the finishes are three types: metal sheet, granite stone, and clay tile. It is a bit of a concern that the thickness of the wall on the outer wall is too thick because the thickness of the finish is thick because it is in the central part 1 area to match the thermal transmittance rate.
This project will be carried out together with earthquake-resistant reinforcement work and window replacement work.
